Comparing Ather 450 Plus with Ampere’s Magnus EX

450 plus is a model introduced by Ather as a value proposition and here we compare it with Ampere’s flagship model Magnus EX.

Ather 450 plus comes with a battery capacity of 2.4 kWh and Ampere Magnus EX has a battery capacity of 2.29 kWh. Ampere Magnus EX is lighter than the Ather 450 plus.

The Ampere Magnus EX comes with a hub-mounted BLDC motor which has a power rating of 1200 Watts. Magnus EX can hit 40 kmph from zero in 10 seconds while Ather 450X can touch 40 kmph in 3.9 seconds. The true range of the Ather 450 Plus is 70 kms while the  Ampere Magnus EX claims 100 plus kms. When it comes to top speed, the Ampere Magnus EX and Ather 450 Plus accelerate up to 53 km/hr and 80 km/hr respectively. 

Feature-wise Ather is one step ahead; it comes with a TFT screen with touch screen functionality plus reverse function. There is also Bluetooth, LED lighting, and WiFi along with a mobile application/geofencing, etc. Ampere Magnus has the most needed functions like Anti-theft alert, remote keyless entry, digital dashboard, and USB Charging.

Ather 450 plus have different riding modes like eco, normal, and sports. Magnus Ex also comes with two modes  Eco and power mode.

The prices do differ in many states due to the subsidies – Ather is priced roughly around 1.25 lakh while the Ampere Magnus EX starts from Rs 84,000.
