Tata Motors launches ‘XPRES-T’ EV sedan

Tata Motors on Wednesday announced the launch of a new brand called ‘XPRES,’ for fleet customers. The first vehicle under the new brand to be launched shortly, will be an electric sedan, called the ‘XPRES-T’ EV, the company said.

According to a media release, under the new brand the company will introduce offerings catering to fleet-specific needs of safety, passenger comfort and low cost of ownership.

“All vehicles for the fleet segment will sport an elegantly designed XPRES badge, clearly differentiating them from the growing 'New Forever' range of cars and SUVs that cater to the requirements of the personal segment. The first vehicle under the new brand to be launched shortly, will be an electric sedan, called the 'XPRES-T' EV,.” the release said.

This will enable higher utilisation and increased income for our fleet customers," he said.

As per the automaker, the XPRES-T electric sedan will be soon available at select dealerships in India for bookings. It comes with two range options, 213km and 165km which are ARAI certified range under test conditions. The sedan packs a battery of 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh and can be charged from 0- 80% in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively, using fast charging or can also be normally charged from any 15 A plug point.

It comes with zero tail-pipe emission, single speed automatic transmission, dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard across variants. The premium black theme interior with standard automatic climate control and Electric Blue accents across its interior and exterior will give it a differentiated presence from other Tata cars, the company said.
