New Electric scooter from Okinawa

Okinawa is launching a new electric scooter in the high speed category by early 2022, it is expected to be in the first quarter of the next financial year. 

Okinawa Autotech Private Limited has been producing and selling electric scooters in India from 2015 onwards and has made a name for itself with quality electric scooters meeting rider’s demands. 

Presently many riders are looking for long range electric scooters in the market. Keeping in mind this trend, Okinawa is getting ready to launch a new electric scooter in the high speed category with a range of 160 kms to 200 kms in a single charge. 

The new electric scooter is expected to be called as Oki90 and the tentative launch date is on 24th March 2022. This electric scooter will be better in terms of riding and speed than their existing models. 

Okinawa has designed this new electric scooter for long distances. As mentioned above we expect the new electric scooter to have a range of 160 kms to 200 kms in a single charge with a top speed of 80 to 90 kmph. 

The new electric scooter will have a removable lithium-ion battery with a fast charger and can be fully charged in 3 hours. This scooter will also have a capability to reach 70 to 80 percent in the first hour of charging and will be equipped with artificial intelligence and connected vehicle features like geo-fencing, navigation, diagnostics, with an installed 4G SIM. 

From the pictures of the test module circulated in the net, we see that this electric scooter will have a centrally mounted motor. The wheels were also looking bigger in size, which can in turn give the scooter a better riding dynamics. 

As range and speed are the two main things riders look at while purchasing an electric scooter. Okinawa is trying their best to meet these demands with the new electric scooter. 

We expect this electric scooter to be priced competitively with the other high speed electric scooters presently in the market. Prices can be somewhere below or above Rs 1.2 lacs.
