The electric scooter market presently has a lot of options to choose from and here we are looking at the flagship models from Ather and Ampere.
Ather 450X and Ampere Magnus EX both have their individual design. Ather 450x has a more sportier design which can attract the youth. Ampere’s Magnus EX has the normal scooter design that pleases all ages.
On the technical side Ather 450X comes with a 2.9 kWh battery pack with a 6 kW motor. Compared with Magnus EX, it has a 2.2 kWh with a 1200 Watts motor.
Magnus EX can hit 40 kmph from zero in 10 seconds while Ather 450X can hit 40 Kmph from zero in 3.3 seconds. The range of the Ather 450X is 116 kms while the Ampere Magnus EX claims 110 – 120 kms. These figures can vary in riding style from person to person and the condition of roads. In a fast-charging station, Ather can run 15 km in 10 minutes of charging. When it comes to top speed, the Ampere Magnus EX and Ather 450X accelerate up to 55 km/hr and 80 km/hr respectively.
Feature wise, Ather comes with a TFT screen with touch screen functionality plus reverse function. There is also Bluetooth, LED lighting, and WiFi along with a mobile application, geofencing, etc. Ampere Magnus also has the necessary functions like Anti-theft alert, remote keyless entry, low kerb weight, CBS, digital dashboard, and USB Charging.
Ather 450X has different riding modes like eco, ride, sports and wrap while Magnus EX comes with two modes Eco and power mode.
The prices do differ in many states due to the subsidies but the Ather is priced between Rs 1.1- 1.3 lakh while the Ampere Magnus EX starts from Rs 86,000.
